Scalp Micropigmentation technicians need to know more and more about the genetic make up of both skin and hair.
This is because not only are scalp conditions becoming more and more common, but they also play a huge part in the result you can expect from your treatment.
Imagine an artist trying to draw an intricate detailed landscape on to the surface of a cliff that has bumps and lumps on it and maybe is a little damp from excessive weathering. The likelihood is that the drawing isn’t going to be as good as it could have been if the drawing was done on a nice smooth freshly plastered and painted dry wall, right?
The exact same thing can be said for your scalp condition pre-treatment. The better the canvas the better the result should be, in the hands of a good artist. If you have oily or really dry, damaged skin this needs to be resolved if you want to get the best results possible.
At Scalp Solutions we are continuously looking to improve our knowledge with a view to improving the quality of results and our patients experience. We have recently collaborated with a well-respected Trichologist and Scalp Micropigmentation practitioner from Australia Kate Dawes of FoliSim.
Kate very kindly agreed to write an article for us about how scalp micropigmentation works in the skin and how certain skin disorders need to be treated before SMP is carried out.
If you would like to know more about the relationship between the skin and pigment. Or maybe you have a skin or scalp condition that you would like to know more about. Check out the article by clicking the link below…
